Hair Color: Golden-blonde and long, hanging past shoulders with slightly shorter bangs. Generally worn tied up in the back and held in place by a comb accessory while leaving the front of her hair, the fringe, to hang free and fame her face. Glasses are typically worn.
Eye Color: Ice Blue, matching the light yet chilling color of the element itself. They have thick lashes and their shape enhances her face. And whatever emotion she is feeling can show through them even if she tries to not let it.

Prejudging has been a common occurrence in Quistis's life. Her appearance alone gives one the opinion that she is a weak component. Of a short height and with a small frame, lacking the strength of most warriors, Quistis is sometimes assumed to be an 'indoor' girl and a nerd. The glasses, the fact that she is an Instructor, and that she is a child prodigy all add to the geek image. One would label her as lovely yet most do not take notice of this. Golden-blonde hair with body though no curl is generally not left done, worn restrained at the back of her head by a silver comb and only the front left loose as long bangs. Carrying herself with a confidence lacking in some, she gives off a vibe of intelligence and friendliness. She tends to, more often than not, be in her SeeD uniform and only if she leaves Balamb Garden does she wear something more casual.
Most do not view her as a young woman and only see the maturity in her.

Combat Style: Blue Magic comes to aid whenever danger arises, being her limit break and a rare ability had by very few, and otherwise relies on Magic. A mix of Fire and Support Magic with minimal Life Magic, she uses all to her advantage. Though skilled in use of her whip, quite in fact considering most cannot use one effectively and it's not a common weapon, which allows for long-ranged attack, Quistis's most notable ability are her magic spells. Her reliance on magic can leave her at a disadvantage as magic takes time and concentration to cast. This makes her an open, vulnerable target at times.
Otherwise, with her smaller frame, not being as strong as other fighters, she uses her agility to the best of its ability. Quick-thinking and fast moves allow for dodging though not always successful. Known to come to the aid of those in need, taking action, and never leaving a man behind, she is steadfast and calm in the face of chaos. To frazzle Quistis is quite challenging. Sometimes it's been feared that she would die as she has literally stood still while being charged at by a soldier until moving at the last second so quickly that it threw them off. Nothing is left to chance, everything taken in about terrain and her opponent, especially weaknesses, to be used to her own advantage.
Though capable of attacking, her defensive capabilities outside of magical use, are severely lacking. She finds it hard to defend against an opponent when cornered and without a place to run. Agility does nothing in enclosed spaces. In other situations one could say that she was too controlled, and unable to just unleash. Rashness is not her style and though sometimes extremely focused, always on the alert and measuring her opponent, Quistis is capable of choosing how best to quickly take down an opponent.
Limit Break: Blue Magic, allows her to imitate monsters' attacks.

Other: A whip is an instrument with a stiff handle and a flexible tail. It is a long range weapon and can sometime cause paralysis after dealing damage. At times Quistis will use this to her advantage, striking an opponent in hopes of causing paralysis to keep them occupied during her casting of a spell.

Friendly, pleasant though quiet and restrained. That is how most would describe Quistis when asked. The Instructor was always seen as someone closed off, cool and composed, who lacked in the capability of expressing emotions. Over the last five years though she has started to become a little better about it, able to express herself to those she feels really close to, though still has trouble doing so. A firm Instructor, though not as hard-assed as some, she now gains the respect of her students with a look and a word. There's also the fact that during the war against Ultimecia her reputation grew, her feats coming just as highly praised as those of the SeeD's and others who aided them. Though once in awhile there is always the occasional problem child.
Her fear of failing, of losing her instructor license again, make it so that she does her best to help each and every student. Sometimes even going so far as to give private one-on-one lessons whether in the library, classroom, or in the training area. She still blames herself for the turn Seifer's life had taken and strives to not have that happen to any other students. The three under her wing, who she keeps an eye on the most, are Asher, Rove, and Zeyla. The boys due to the fact that in each she sees traits of Seifer and Squall, and the girl due to the fact that her youth as well as temper tend to make her a bit risque in combat. She wants to help each of them come into their full potential and see them aspire to great things in life.
Patient and a good listener, Quistis is not easily turned away. Squall and Seifer would both attest to that fact. Her ability to not ask yet make you feel at ease enough to speak is one of the most loved about her. Though relaxed generally she is also capable of taking charge, thinking on her feet, and giving commands when it seems that no other can. This is one reason why, in multiple situations, she has been placed in a position of leadership. The ability to stay calm in the face of chaos and keep things going in an orderly manner are admirable traits. On top of that, Quistis has some knowledge of bandages and mending wounds, due to her time helping out in the infirmary after the end of the battle against Ultimecia.
The fact that she is a child prodigy makes for alot of talk that naturally she tends to tune out. Quistis doesn't see anything overly special about her though most would raise a brow at that. Having mastered the whip and being so highly skilled in Blue Magic, becoming a SeeD at the mere age of fifteen, and then the youngest Instructor at Balamb Garden at 18 makes some young girls desire to be just like her when they grow up. Yet, all of this somehow, separated her from her students for many years- her rank separating her from those of her own age and those older saw her as strong due to her outward demeanor. Inside though she just wanted to be loved, to not be alone, and still yearns even now for that. None of this has affected her fiercely protective big sister personality or her love of Balamb Garden, the only place she calls home.

Quistis was an orphan at the end of the Sorceress War, growing up in Edea's Orphanage with Zell, Selphie, Irvine, Seifer, Squall, and Ellone. She really admired Edea Kramer. She was nicknamed "Quisty" by her friends and was considered the "bossy" one of the bunch. When Ellone left, she attempted to take her place in being Squall's "big sister", always being there to break him and Seifer up when they fought.
Eventually she was adopted but, due to unknown circumstances that resulted in her adoption "not working out", she was entered into Balamb Garden at the age of 10 and, at the age of 15, she became one of the youngest students to become a SeeD and stayed on to become an Instructor, receiving her license at age 17. When she had entered the Garden she first noticed Seifer and Squall, as the two were always fighting. Even when she became an Instructor she couldn't stop thinking about Squall, confusing her childhood feelings as a "big sister" for love. She hid her feelings though, even more so when she became his Instructor.
During her time as a student Quistis became close friends with Xu, another Garden student, and together they climbed the ranks of Balamb Garden's Card Club with Quistis eventually becoming the card master "King"; the highest ranked and skilled member in the club, at age 14.
Three years later Quistis had become something of an idol to some of the students, so much that they had even created a fan club around her. Naming themselves "Trepies", they respected and idolized everything that she did and was also slightly protective of her. Quistis herself took their actions in stride and ignored them for the most part, concentrating only on her job as Instructor of her class. Two students she kept specific attention on were Squall and Seifer, the former due to her hidden feelings towards him, the latter due to his misconduct.
